Dawson County Government Center

The Dawson County Government Center project unified the multiple county functions that were formerly spread out among several buildings.  Located in Dawsonville, Georgia, this new facility combines Superior Court, Magistrate Court, and Probate Court.  Additionally, it houses the County Administration, Board of Commissioners, Tax Assessor, Tax Commissioner, Superior Court Clerk, Community Development Department, Code Enforcement, Public Defender and District Attorney Offices.   The facility is four stories totaling 111,140 SF.

CLOUD|interiors performed the comprehensive interior design, inclusive of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment selection, signage, and artwork.  Neutral paint colors create a warm, inviting atmosphere, while mahogany wood details add interest and contrast.  Red and gold tones appear in the upholstery.  Quality and performance were driving factors in the selection of finishes and fixtures, with the knowledge that this facility will continue to serve Dawsonville over the decades.

In such a facility, wayfinding is critical for its visitors, and this was accomplished by custom designed signage located throughout the building.

Office areas are a mixture of open-plan workstations and private offices.  Steelcase workstations create the open office layouts while mahogany veneer desking systems furnish the private offices.

One focus of the interior design was on artwork – specifically incorporating works of art donated by the Dawsonville Arts Council.  This artwork, hung in the public lobbies, represents some of the finest local artists of the Dawsonville area.  Mediums range from Oils and Acrylics to Stained Glass, Photography, and Quilting.  It will continue to grow as a gallery of works that reflect on the natural beauty of Dawson County.
